3 · How the impact is calculated App calculation

5,250 unbilled hours × $80 fully loaded delivery cost = $420,000. This is the cost of the work, not lost revenue.

4 · Supporting records

Contracts and timesheets for CL-0016, CL-0003, CL-0124, CL-0055, CL-0037, CL-0086, CL-0097, CL-0079, CL-0093, CL-0035, CL-0044; account owner approvals in project logs.

5 · Assumptions required

Delivery cost of $80/h; hours logged correctly; contracted hours reflect the signed scope.

6 · Contradicting evidence

Part of the extra effort coincides with new-staff onboarding, so some hours may be inefficiency rather than unpriced scope. Some clients may have verbally agreed to extra work as goodwill for renewals.

7 · Recoverable portion

Only the 7 accounts with a change-order clause (3,870 h) are treated as recoverable: × $150 bill rate × 50% assumed acceptance = $290,250 revenue. The rest is preventable going forward, not recoverable.

8 · Preventing recurrence

Scope-change approval with pricing; monthly contracted-vs-actual hours report per account; account manager targets that include contribution margin.
